Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 Now Available

Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 is now available under our Campus Agreement.

If your department participates in the Campus Agreement and would like to install Office for Mac 2011 on your departmental machines, please follow the instructions below:

  • OIT-supported departments – Please have faculty and staff enter an IT Service Desk ticket at itsd@ua.edu.   The Office of Information Technology (OIT)’s Customer Support team will schedule a time to install the software.
  • Self-supported departments – Please send a request for installation media to the IT Service Desk at itsd@ua.edu.  The IT Service Desk will contact you when the media is available for pickup.

Information about the Microsoft Home Use benefit offered through UA’s Campus Agreement can be found here. 

Please note that the Office of Information Technology (OIT) has not had time to fully complete testing for compatibility issues.  If you decide to become an early adopter, please report any issues you encounter to our Office for Mac 2011 project manager, Kim Bailey (kbailey@ua.edu).

Scheduled Outages

Routine Maintenance

OIT performs routine maintenance on servers and systems every Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon. Many IT services may be offline intermittently during this time. Network access and computing resources availability (Banner, E-Learning, Exchange server, etc.) may also be affected. Since this is a low-usage period, fewer UA customers will be impacted. For questions, contact the IT Service Desk at (205) 348-5555 or itsd@ua.edu.
