Higher education institutions aren’t the only ones taking advantage of Internet2 connectivity. Primary and secondary schools are using the network’s backbone to provide their students with enhanced educational experiences. Students in remote schools are taking virtual trips to museums across the US, learning about the legislative process by speaking to their congressional representative in Washington D.C., and participating in classes with some of the brightest minds in universities. Internet2 is also home for Muse, a social networking tool that allows participants to collaborate on projects and share ideas. The campus community does indeed get bigger with the Internet2 network.
