OIT provides free website hosting services for authorized individuals, departments and groups on campus.

OIT provides assistance to students uploading websites for publication on Bama along with general information on user/website owner responsibilities, basic web site building instructions, personal information protection, creation and execution of web forms, web site permissions, basic web publishing and troubleshooting, use of CGI, Server-Side (SSI), and Java Servlets on the Bama server.

Quick Guide to web hosting on Bama

We are running a fully-functional Apache Web server on bama.ua.edu with some modifications.

Note: In order to publish a web site, you must have either a ftp-only or an interactive shell on your myBama account.
