List Management Dashboard

  1. Go to listserv.ua.edu
  2. Click on the ‘Log In’ link in the upper right corner.
  3. Enter your registered e-mail address and password.
  4. Click the ‘Log In’ button.
  5. List Management Dashboard.  Your LISTSERV name should be displayed at the top of the page.

*If you are an owner on multiple LISTSERVs, there will be a dropdown list containing all of your LISTSERVs.

Add or Delete LISTSERV Owners

As an owner of the LISTSERV, you have the ability to add and delete owners on your LISTSERV.

  1. Login to LISTSERV and click on List Management.
  2. Navigate to List Configuration, Manual Configuration, and select the LISTSERV from the dropdown menu.
  3. Scroll down to “Owner= “ and add the email address of the new owner.
  • NOTE: There is a space after the “=” sign.

Adding Subscribers (email addresses)

  1. Click on List Management, Subscriber Management.
  2. Select Single Subscriber.
  3. Under Add New Subscriber, enter the new subscriber’s email address.
  4. Click the Add… button. Continue these steps for each new subscriber.
  5. You can see your list subscribers by clicking on Review List Members at the bottom left of your screen on the Subscriber Management page.

Adding Subscribers in Bulk

  1. Click on List Management, then Subscriber Management from the dropdown menu.
  2. Select the name of your list, then select the Bulk Operations tab.
  3. Under Function, choose Add imported email address.
  4. Under Input files, clock to browse and locate your saved document to import, then select open.
  5. Click Import. You should receive a success message.

Change or Delete Subscribers

  1. Click on List Management, Subscriber Management
  2. Under Examine or Delete Subscription, enter the subscriber’s email address.
  3. Click the ‘Search…’ button
  4. Options:
  • To delete user from list, click the Delete button at the bottom of page.
  • To change/update the user’s email address, click the Update button.

Sending LISTSERV Email

There are 2 ways to send an email message to your LISTSERV subscribers.

From Outlook or your email client:

  1. Click on New Email.
  2. In the To field, enter your LISTERV name. (LISTSERVNAME@listserv.ua.edu).
  3. Compose your message and click Send when complete.

From the LISTSERV Web Interface:

  1. Go to listserv.ua.edu.
  2. Click on the login link in the upper right corner.
  3. Enter your registered e-mail address and password.
  4. Click on LISTSERV Management, List Dashboard in the upper left hand corner.
  5. Choose your list from the dropdown menu.
  6. Click on the LISTERV name in the upper left hand corner.
  7. You will be taken to the List Archives dashboard.
  8. Select Post to the list in the white section of the page.
  9. You will be taken to the Send Message screen.
  10. Select Show Advanced on the right, and choose to compose a message in HTML or plain text.
  11. Here you can schedule your delivery – immediately or a specified date and time.
  12. You can also add an attachment by selecting choose file and then attach.
  13. Click Send Message at the bottom of the screen to complete.

To verify that your message was sent, check LISTSERV archives. Messages are not always posted immediately. Network traffic and system load can affect the time it takes for your message to get distributed.

LISTSERV Archives

  1. Go to listserv.ua.edu.
  2. Click on the login link in the upper right corner.
  3. Enter your registered e-mail address and password.
  4. Click on LISTSERV Management, List Dashboard in the upper left hand corner.
  5. Choose your list from the dropdown menu.
  6. Click on the LISTERV name in the upper left hand corner.
  7. You will be taken to the List Archives dashboard.
  8. Select Search the Archives to browse previously sent email messages.
