VPN Upgrade – June 17

Saturday, June 17, The Office of Information Technology will be performing an upgrade to the UA Virtual Private Network (VPN). The VPN will be unavailable during the upgrade, which will occur from 7:00 am until 7:30 p.m.  If you have any questions, please contact the IT Service Desk at 205-348-5555 or itsd@ua.edu.

May 2017 Network Upgrades

Beginning Monday, May 15, Office of Information Technology will be performing upgrades to the UA campus network and UA’s continuity of operations center. Monday, May 15 and Wednesday, May 17, users may experience network outages from 6:00 a.m. until 6:30 a.m. The Office of Information Technology is proud to perform these upgrades to continue to provide superior networking services to the UA community.

Banner Unavailable Sunday April 23

The Office of Information Technology will be implementing a Banner Bundle upgrade Sunday, April 23 at at 5a.m. All work will be completed by 10:30 a.m. myBama will be available during the upgrade, but channels that connect to Banner will not be accessible, including self-service and administrative systems.

OIT Announces Wireless Network Maintenance

Saturday, Jan. 28 from 7:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The Office of Information Technology will be performing routine maintenance of UA’s wireless network in order to enhance network security. Wireless service may not be available for some areas of campus during this maintenance period.

OIT Maintenance – myBama Unavailable Sunday, Jan 22 from 6am – 10am

The Office of Information Technology will install the quarterly Oracle patch on Sunday, January 22 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. The following services will be unavailable during the installation period: Appworx, Banner, Crystal Report Server, Degree Works, myBama, Pinnacle, PCR360 and Sitefile.

MYBAMA-UNAVAILABLE

Banner Services Updates Oct. 2 & Oct. 9 – Services Unavailable 6am-10am

The Office of Information Technology will install the quarterly Oracle patch on Sunday, October 2 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. The following services will be unavailable during the installation period: Appworx, Astra, Banner, Crystal Report Server, Degree Works, myBama, Pinnacle, PCR360 and Sitefile. 

OIT will also be implementing a Banner Bundle upgrade on Sunday, October 9 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.  myBama will be available during the upgrade, but channels that connect to Banner will not be accessible, including self-service and administrative systems. 

In case of an emergency, The University of Alabama Police Department will have continuous access to Banner information during the scheduled down time.
