Exchange 2016 Upgrades to Occur

Over the next six weeks, The Office of Information Technology will be upgrading all OIT supported mailboxes to Exchange 2016. The only action required of the user is to restart their Outlook application. OIT will be performing these updates on Sunday evenings beginning Sunday, April 9 through Sunday, May 14.

Once a user’s account has been moved by OIT, the user will receive a message in Outlook stating “The Administrator has made a change that requires you to quit and restart Outlook.” At this time, users may restart Outlook, and begin to use the new Exchange 2016.

IMAP Users
IMAP users will need to change their IMAP server name to “”.

Calendar Sharing
Please note that calendar sharing with users outside of Exchange 2016 (i.e. mailbox still exists on Exchange 2010) may not be functional. Once all groups are using Exchange 2016, calendar sharing will be seamless across OIT supported mailboxes.
