Eduroam – Education Roaming
Eduroam is the secure, worldwide federated network access service developed for the international research and education community.
The Office of Information Technology provides access to the eduroam service which allows faculty, staff and students to use their myBama ID and password to obtain wifi access on over 250 campuses nationwide and hundreds more abroad. Visiting students, professors and staff from other institutions may also connect to the UA network using their home credentials.
How Does it Work?
On any participating campus, simply find and connect to the “eduroam” wireless network. You will need to use your UA credentials to connect.
Use your myBama ID followed by your Crimson email address (myBamaID@crimson.ua.edu) and myBama password.
User your @ua.edu address (myBamaUserID@ua.edu) and myBama password.
OIT encourages those who plan to use eduroam on another campus to connect on the UA campus before departing. Though users may join eduroam for the first time at any institution, you will need to contact your home institution if any problems occur while connecting. UA students, faculty and staff should contact the IT Service Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org or 205-348-5555 with any issues.
