OIT provides two backup and cloud storage options for UA students, faculty and staff.
Cloud storage is a service where data is remotely maintained, managed and backed-up. By storing files in the cloud, they can be readily retrieved through an internet connection. OIT recommends storing files in the cloud to have fast, and secure, access to files. UA students, faculty and staff have access to OneDrive and Box cloud storage solutions.
Use of personal file share or cloud services (such as personal Box, OneDrive, DropBox, iCloud, or other services) for storing or transmitting University data is not permitted and is in violation of The University of Alabama’s Terms of Use of University Technology Resources.
You can review OIT’s Microsoft Cloud Storage Best Practices to ensure you are properly storing your UA-related files.

Microsoft OneDrive is built into the 365 suite of tools, making it the easiest tool to use for collaboration and cloud storage.Box
Box is an alternative option for cloud storage. UA students, faculty and staff can backup, store, share and collaborate with others through Box.Store Securely
