Box is a cloud storage service that provides cloud storage to students, faculty, and staff of The University of Alabama via Box.com. Box is accessible on desktop and mobile devices, and it is encrypted both in transit and storage. All Box servers are based in the United States.
Box is also useful for sharing and collaboration – folders and documents may be shared among users for distributed editing and viewing. Box has robust permissions settings, allowing collaborators to be viewers or editors, and it keeps revisions of documents so that your work is never lost.
The University has a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Business Associate Agreement (HIPAA BAA) with Box to allow use for Protected Health Information.
Box supports storage of most file types. Other file types can be stored in Teams or One Drive. Box accounts cannot be applied to departmental accounts. All Box accounts must belong to an individual student, faculty or staff member. Co-ownership of folders is possible in Box, and suggested for important departmental folders owned by an individual.Login to UA Box

And, keep enterprise-grade security protecting everything you do. Download Box Drive at box.com.

The service is not available to alumni or former employees. When a user is no longer an active student, faculty, or staff, they will be given the opportunity to transition their UA Box account to a personal Box account.
