This dedicated team is committed to continuously refining the CRM landscape to ensure optimal performance and compliance with institutional standards. In addition to their technical expertise, they provide comprehensive user support and training to help staff effectively leverage the CRM’s capabilities. Furthermore, the team is vigilant in maintaining the data integrity and security of the platform, ensuring that all information is protected and accurately managed. Research Information Assurance Team

Along with an increase in regulatory controls for research data, The University of Alabama has expanded its research portfolio, necessitating enhanced protection for research data. The OIT Research Information Assurance (RIA) team collaborates closely with the Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED) to assist UA researchers in safeguarding research data and information. The OIT RIA team also runs The University of Alabama Research Cloud (UAResCloud), a specialized environment designed for the production and storage of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). This environment meets stringent security requirements beyond standard network configurations, enabling UA researchers to pursue additional research projects, such as those sponsored by DoD entities. OIT’s RIA team leverages diverse expertise in information security, missile defense, and cyber operations to address a broad spectrum of research security needs.
