In order to continue using Contacts in your Office 365 account on your iOS device, you will need to make sure that iOS has access to this account by following these simple steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device.
  2. Scroll down and tap Passwords & Accounts.
    • If your UA account is not listed, tap Add Account.
    • If your account is listed, but you are having issues with missing contacts, tap your account and remove it from your device. When it has been successfully deleted, tap Add Account under Passwords & Accounts and proceed.
  3. On the Add Account screen, tap Microsoft Exchange.
  4. Enter your myBamaUsername@ua.edu email address (E.g., jrdoe1@ua.edu). You can enter whatever you’d like for the description, but we recommend using UA Office 365.
  5. When asked “Sign in to your “ua.edu” Exchange account using Microsoft?”, tap Sign In.
  6. Enter your myBama Password and tap Sign in. You may be asked to authenticate with DUO Two-Factor Authentication, if that is enabled on your myBama Account.
  7. If you see a “Permissions requested” message, tap Accept.
  8. After your account is verified, you will see a screen with switches for the Office 365 services you can use with your iOS device.
    • Make sure the switch for Contacts is on.
    • OIT recommends the Outlook Mobile app for the smoothest experience with Office 365 mail and calendars. If you are using the OIT-recommended Outlook Mobile app, toggle the switch for Mail and Calendars to the off position.
    • Reminders and Notes can be synced from your Office 365 account to your iOS device, if you wish.
  9. Be sure to tap Save, and that’s it! Your contacts may take a while to populate in the Contacts and Phone app on your device.
