  • in

OrCAD CIS is a key part of the OrCAD schematic design entry solution. Integrated into corporate databases, you can automatically synchronize and validate externally sourced component data with the schematic design database, thereby eliminating manual data entry and guesswork. It solves a critical problem for your engineering teams by quickly and easily selecting the best component available, based on both the technical AND business parameters critical for success. OrCAD® CIS (Component Information System) provides easy access to your company’s component databases and part information. Seamlessly integrated within OrCAD Capture, OrCAD CIS greatly enhances the part selection and verification process and significantly boosts your productivity by reducing the amount of time spent researching for parts or reusing existing parts, eliminating manual entry of part information, and maintaining synchronization of component data.

Patran

MSC Patran is the world’s most widely used pre/post-processing software for Finite Element Analysis (FEA), providing solid modeling, meshing, analysis setup and post-processing for multiple solvers including MSC Nastran, Marc, Abaqus, LS-DYNA, ANSYS, and Pam-Crash.

Patran provides a rich set of tools that streamline the creation of analysis ready models for linear, nonlinear, explicit dynamics, thermal, and other finite element solutions. From geometry cleanup tools that make it easy for engineers to deal with gaps and slivers in CAD, to solid modeling tools that enable creation of models from scratch, Patran makes it easy for anyone to create FE models. Meshes are easily created on surfaces and solids alike using fully automated meshing routines, manual methods that provide more control, or combinations of both. Finally, loads, boundary conditions, and analysis setup for most popular FE solvers is built in, minimizing the need to edit input decks.

Patran’s comprehensive and industry tested capabilities ensure that your virtual prototyping efforts provide results fast so that you can evaluate product performance against requirements and optimize your designs.

POLYMATH is a proven computational system that has been specifically created for educational or professional use. The various POLYMATH programs allow the user to apply effective numerical analysis techniques during interactive problem solving on personal computers. Results are presented graphically for easy understanding and for incorporation into papers and reports. Engineers, mathematicians, scientists, students, or anyone with a need to solve problems will appreciate the efficiency and speed of problem solution.

PolyMath utilizes a color-coded full-screen editor. All displays have been optimized for user efficiency. Also provided with Polymath 6.1 is the UNIQUE capability to automatically export any POLYMATH problem to Excel with a single keypress. Thus problems can be solved completely in Polymath or exported to ExcelTM for solution. A POLYMATH ODE_Solver Add-In is included for solving ordinary differential equations in Excel. Automatic export to Excel includes all intrinsic functions and logical variables. Ordered equations can also be provided to assist with optional MatlabTM solutions of POLYMATH problems.

PolyMath PC also has an option to automatically create and export PolyMath problems to Excel as working spreadsheets. Problems can be solved completely in PolyMath PC or a problem can be exported to Excel and in the process can automatically yield a working stand-alone Excel spreadsheet. In problems involving nonlinear equations, the Excel Add-In called ‘Solver’ that must be installed for use in the Excel spreadsheet for solving the nonlinear equations. For systems of ordinary differential equations, PolyMath Software has developed and provides an Excel Add-In called ODE_Solver.xla. This Add-in must be installed from the installed PolyMath PC software into the Excel software, and the details are discussed in the link below. This useful Add-in can also be used as stand-alone in Excel to effectively solve systems of differential equations with popular algorithms.

The LabVIEW MathScript Module is add-on software for the LabVIEW programming environment that includes more than 750 built-in textual functions for signal processing, analysis, and math tasks. It provides an interactive and a programmatic interface. Designed for the development of scripts, the MathScript Interactive Window features a command-line interface in which you can load, save, design, and execute textual file scripts. Designed for the deployment of scripts, The MathScript Node is a LabVIEW feature that connects your text-based variables with the inputs and outputs of graphical LabVIEW code. This module works with LabVIEW as well as all LabVIEW Real-Time hardware targets.

Please note that LabVIEW Core trainings are not included in our license.

Heat Exchanger

  • December 10th, 2021
  • in

Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger analyzes the performance of a bare-tube, shell-and-tube heat exchanger. For a given exchanger, for which construction details are known, and for which the inlet flow rates and temperatures of both fluids are known, the program calculates the outlet temperatures, the heat exchanged, and estimates the pressure drop on both sides.

Limitations: This program is suitable only for bare-tube exchangers handling liquids or non-condensing fluids on both sides.
