IT Services for Current UA Faculty + Staff
Need assistance? Give us a call at 205-348-5555 or book an appointment with our IT Service Desk located at 125 Gordon Palmer Hall. We’re happy to assist UA faculty and staff Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Faculty and staff can access their UA O365 email accounts at outlook.office.com, or through the Outlook application. OIT recommends using the official Outlook app on iOS, Android and desktop machines. Follow our step-by-step guide for configuring your UA Email on your mobile device. *Note – Duo two-factor authentication is required for accessing email.
Duo is our two-factor authentication system. It requires multiple authentication methods in order to grant access to your account. First your username and password, second a notification to your smartphone, a call, an email or a text! By activating Duo, you can protect your myBama credentials, and make sure no one else can access your accounts. We’ve got step-by-step guides for adding a new device, as well as answers to frequently asked questions. While you’re there, check out your authentication options to find the best solution for you!
Need to get connected to campus resources while off campus? VPN access is automatically provided to all UA faculty and staff, and it can be easily accessed through Cisco AnyConnect. Learn more about UA’s Virtual Private Network.
LISTSERV mailing lists are great for organizations, departments, committees or groups that need to easily communicate with members. We require a minimum of 25 users on your list before you can create a new LISTSERV mailing list. Request a mailing list today on our website! Once it is processed, you’ll receive an email confirmation from the IT Service Desk. After that, you can log in to listserv.ua.edu to confirm your account and manage your list.
