Annual Renewal

Users must load a new SAS installation date (SID) file and agree to the Terms and Conditions each year, and the licensing period run from July 1st to June 30th. This is required to comply with the licensing agreement. If you want to continue running the version of JMP that you have installed, you will need to load a new SID file each June.

Limitations

The JMP Academic Suite may only be used for teaching and research purposes, which includes classroom instruction and coursework, including the formulation of theses and dissertations and noncommercial research activities. Software may not be used for personal, commercial, or profit-making purposes.

Users may not reverse engineer, reverse assemble, or decompile software or in any way attempt to recreate the source code, except and only to the extent applicable laws specifically prohibit such restriction.

Jabber improves productivity and allows for easy communication with coworkers and colleagues.  Jabber can be used on Mac and PC machines as well as Android and iOS devices.

EndNote

EndNote is citation management software that allows users to create customized libraries of references, automatically create citations and bibliography matching the requirements of the selected journal or style manual, sync and share references, and more. With EndNote, users can quickly find reliable sources of information on various subjects while easily collecting sources in one convenient place.

In addition to installing EndNote on personal or University machines, users can also access EndNote anywhere using EndNote online. To use EndNote online, click “Sign in via your institution/shibboleth login” and proceed with logging in with your ua.edu or crimson.ua.edu email address and password.

DocuSign

DocuSign is an e-signature solution that allows users to quickly and securely access and sign documents. Users can easily upload and send documents for others to sign. DocuSign is an ideal tool to access and sign a document without a fax machine or physical copy. With DocuSign, users can send a document that requires signature or verification. Deep Freeze

Deep Freeze is a program that protects against unwanted workstation changes by “freezing” a computer’s configuration. The original configuration is restored each time the workstation is rebooted. Deep Freeze can work with both stand-alone and networked computers.

Box

Box is a cloud storage service available to UA students, faculty, and staff. Box is an easy-to-use, safe way to store and share files with colleagues at and outside of UA. Box can be used to store sensitive data, including HIPAA data as the University has a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Business Associate Agreement (HIPAA BAA) with Box to allow use for Protected Health Information. All Box servers are US-based.

Currently, Box offers unlimited storage to current UA students, faculty and staff. The maximum single file size to store on Box is 15GB. OIT does not recommend Box as an archive solution.

Box supports storage of most file types. Other file types can be stored in Teams or OneDrive. Box accounts cannot be applied to departmental accounts, only individual user accounts.
