EndNote is citation management software that allows users to create customized libraries of references, automatically create citations and bibliography matching the requirements of the selected journal or style manual, sync and share references, and more. With EndNote, users can quickly find reliable sources of information on various subjects while easily collecting sources in one convenient place.

In addition to installing EndNote on personal or University machines, users can also access EndNote anywhere using EndNote online. To use EndNote online, click “Sign in via your institution/shibboleth login” and proceed with logging in with your ua.edu or crimson.ua.edu email address and password.

Students, faculty, and staff can download Endnote from the Clarivate Analytics website through the link below.

Upon installing the software, users will be prompted for a product key. Visit the link below to obtain the product key.

EndNote License Key

Retirees

Retirees should contact the IT Service Desk.  After retirement status is verified, an installation DVD will be available for pickup at the IT Service Desk.


Updates

Incremental updates can be obtained on both Windows and Mac within the software itself.

For Windows

Click “Help” then “Check for Updates.”

For Mac

Under the “EndNote” menu, choose “Check for Updates.”

This software is licensed for use on both personal and University-owned machines and devices.

The University maintains an unlimited site license agreement for EndNote funded by University Libraries, College of Arts & Sciences, College of Engineering, Capstone College of Nursing and Culverhouse College of Commerce & Business Administration.
