Spirion is commercial software that searches for sensitive data such as social security numbers, credit card numbers, and a variety of other data elements. With Spirion, UA faculty and staff can proactively find sensitive data on their University owned machines and storage. If Spirion does find sensitive data on your machine, you can shred, scrub or secure the sensitive data. Follow the instructions associated with the download file to learn how to best remove sensitive data from your machine.
Faculty and staff can download and install the software by accessing the “Download Spirion” button and entering their myBama username and password. Be sure to follow the installation and getting started instructions to get the most out of Spirion.

The University maintains a site-license for this software for Windows and Mac workstations. The license covers only University-owned machines.
