Tableau is an easy-to-use business intelligence software used for data analysis, providing visual tools to help see and understand data. Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep is available for students and instructors for free.
Currently enrolled students are eligible to use Tableau software. Students can obtain the software directly from Tableau by requesting an account online through Tableau’s Student Request Form. Students can renew their license annually for every year that they are enrolled in classes at UA. Students will need to submit the form each year to renew the license.
Faculty can obtain the software directly from Tableau by requesting an account online through Tableau’s Teaching Request Form.
Students and faculty will be sent an email with a product key that is valid for one year. Users may reapply for a new key once the existing key expires.
Tableau makes its software available at no cost to students and educators.
This software is licensed for use on both personal and University-owned machines and devices.
The University does not have a licensing agreement with Tableau. However, Tableau makes most of its software available to students and educators free of charge for noncommercial projects.
Tableau makes the most current versions of their software available through this program. Many programs are available on both PC and Mac.
